who reads my posts? Drake, do you? Is it safe here? Well, if I were to make up a religion, I'd go with a pantheon and not aliens. It is so much more interesting.
Blah blah balh. Why don't I quit gaming and write? That's what I ask my friends, too. Why don't THEY quit gaming and write, or something. Yeah. I should lead by example -- right after I finish this next quest....

I thought i was dying, but it didn't happen. Instead, my husband forced me to visit the doctor; he gave me drugs which I continue to take, and recommended two other docs for other problems. I'm alive.
Someone said a thing that was a logical fallacy. When I pointed to it, she repeated it as her answer, so instead of correcting her again, here is a new post. Have you read the entirety of King's famous speech? No one reads the whole thing. No one quotes the parts that don't fit their opinions. No one cares. Few take the time to hear what is said. Fewer still actually think about it to the point of drawing logical conclusions. What of today's leaders? Did you hear all of Obama's speech? Or did you just catch the highlights on CNN as they analyzed it to death?
Do you know the real difference between Republican and Democrat? Have you ever tried to discover the truth? Few do. It is much easier to simply react to hot button words and to take a stand based on one monotone issue instead of looking at the whole picture. Believe me, it is difficult to view the whole picture! There are so many facets and nuances that hide the basic core beliefs of either party. Both want to appeal to the masses for power. Then they certainly will act to promote those hidden, deceptive core beliefs. Few want to reveal their true stand on any issue until elected. Politicians use catch phrases and vague details until elected. It's called 'politics', and it works.
So, where am I going with this? Last year, someone on another such site upset me to the point that I deleted all my poetry and short stories from the Internet. This is notice that I shall officially resign from political stands. Americans in general do not know history, nor how we are poised for drastic change that may include the rescission of all our freedoms. We don't understand logic, nor science, nor social forces. We think everything can be 'fixed'. Everything must be solved in sound bytes and with good intentions instead of quiet logic and hard decisions that take courage and perseverance.
If they consider it at all, most Americans think that the current hostility in the Middle East has something to do with recent events. Some reach back as far 1948 or even 1917 for the problem, but they are wrong. This whole situation is 5000 years old and started as a dark, dirty family secret. We Americans simply cannot comprehend this. We are bred to believe that bygones can be bygones, and that family feuds can be resolved. One look at daytime TV should remove that thought from everyone's minds.
I've heard discussions on the evolution of political systems. There is nothing new under the sun, folks. People are the same as they were in 3000 B.C. There are simply more of us, now. People continue to fight wars, and wars are all fought for the same reasons. The mechanics of war change with technology, but the reasons stay the same: greed, power, freedom. When I hear someone say that civilized people don't do a thing, I ask, “Who told you that humanity was civilized?” Have you seen the news?
